Good
news! My friends have a bunch of bricks
they want to get rid of. Since they are
only a few blocks from my house, I can load down my van with bricks without
causing any harm. Some of the bricks are
solid, but some have holes. I have one
path filled with solid bricks. It looks
nice, but I think it will still feel sloppy until the entire thing is filled in
and finished. Place the bricks with
holes sideways and use more bricks, or come up with a creative way to fill the
holes so weeds don’t pop through…any suggestions?
Sideways.
ReplyDeleteI started to take the sideways approach but quickly began to realize just how many bricks that would require. I'm going to try fighting with the holes for awhile...we'll see what happens.
DeleteCreative way to fill the holes if they are large enough-- plant thyme in them, let the thyme grow crazy. When you step on it, you will have a most delicious aroma. I planted thyme between pavers of my raised bed and it was a nice experience to tromp on the herbs!
ReplyDeleteI was pondering some sort of plant that can be stepped on. Good to know you've had luck with it. Meanwhile, I threw some vinegar down to kill the weeds.
